The Mississippi Department of Archives and History (MDAH) recently hosted a committee meeting of the Council for Certification in Volunteer Administration (CCVA). The CCVA advances the profession and practice of volunteer resource management.
Volunteer Mississippi Executive Director David Mallery and DOVIA President Michele Baker welcomed the group upon their arrival. The group traveled from Oregon; Pennsylvania; California; Massachusetts; Texas; Ohio; Illinois; Virginia; other parts of Mississippi; and Nova Scotia, Canada; and serve as volunteer administrators in a variety of organizations.
CCVA sponsors the CVA (Certified in Volunteer Administration) credential, the only international professional certification in the field of volunteer resources management. If you are interested in becoming a CVA, please visit http://www.cvacert.org/ and register to begin the process.
