The Governor’s Initiative for Volunteer Excellence (GIVE) Awards

It’s time to nominate a volunteer from your community for a prestigious GIVE Award!  Every year, Volunteer Mississippi (the Mississippi Commission for Volunteer Service), in cooperation with the Office of the Governor, honors the accomplishments of Mississippians who have given exemplary volunteer service to their communities.  On Monday, April 22, 2013, GIVE Award recipients will be recognized at an event held specially for them at the Mississippi Museum of Art.

You can nominate any volunteer that has given outstanding service to a deserving cause in the community.  Some special categories for nominating individual and/or group volunteers who are: college students, youth under the age of 18, Public Servants, National Service Members, person(s) with a disability, disaster volunteers, or those who have given a lifetime of service. Also consider small and large corporations/businesses and nonprofit organizations that have exceptional volunteer programs, as well as outstanding nonprofit volunteer management professionals.  Please read the nomination for other possible award recipient categories and criteria.

  3. Save a copy to your computer
  4. Submit your nomination by email to krista@mcvs.org

Nominations may also be faxed to 601.432.6790, or mailed to Volunteer Mississippi, C/O GIVE Awards, 3825 Ridgewood Rd, Ste 601, Jackson, MS 39211.

The deadline for nominations is 5:00 p.m. on February 28, 2013.
